PGIM Real Estate

As more data is created for commercial real estate investment and operations, and access to artificial intelligence and advanced analytics models become more available and widespread, real estate investment managers are increasingly asking themselves how they can create new datasets to yield greater results for their investors.
PGIM Real Estate, a $206B real estate investment manager with offices worldwide, identified an opportunity to enhance its advanced data strategy by leveraging innovative tools to tap previously untapped and unstructured real estate market data.

PGIM Real Estate wanted to leverage innovative tools to enhance market information available for deal screening and underwriting.

Origin Solution

The implementation of Origin by Altrio brought transformative benefits to PGIM Real Estate's investment teams. Origin automatically extracts relevant deal, asset, and market information across a variety of channels, creating a structured repository of market data that investors can leverage to support their underwriting assumptions.

Investment professionals can update deals in Origin directly from their underwriting model, enabling fast and efficient reporting of changes to stakeholders across the organization, freeing time to spend on sourcing, screening, and underwriting the best investments.

Origin’s integration with PGIM Real Estate's internal systems streamline approval workflows, document production, and collaboration across teams, allowing everyone to work faster and smarter.

Since the adoption of Origin in August 2022, over 300 PGIM Real Estate team members have adopted the platform, utilizing it to track and evaluate over 10,000 deals and consolidate over a million market data points. Origin has enhanced the efficiency of PGIM Real Estate’s investment process, saving its investment teams thousands of hours so they can focus even more time on uniquely creating value for their investors.

"Our ultimate goal was to sharpen and expand how we leverage data in our investment process as part of our journey to become a leader in the use of advanced analytics in our space. Origin is helping us manage and put to use the large volume of information we receive every day, making our work more efficient and helping us make better investment decisions."
